Catalyst addition measurement tools
By far the most worrying element, especially for DIY installers, in Fibre Glass Roofing is the addition of catalyst (hardener) to roofing resin and roofing topcoat. Catalyst enables full curing (hardening) in a viable time scale and is impacted by both ambient and deck temperatures and of course the seasons. Getting this right is most important for success so accurate measurement when taking everything into account is a must.
Catalyst Dispensers – to use you simply take off the dispenser lid, and fill with Catalyst. Easy to use, you squeeze the bottle, until your dispenser reaches the required amount you need then simply mix very thoroughly to your Resin or Topcoat.
Graduated Mixing Bucket – Seeing is believing
Another very visual alternative to dispensers, a durable polypropylene bucket, ideal for mixing resins and cleaning tools in acetone. Translucent printing shows quantity of resin in litres/kg with a scale to show how much catalyst to add.
Diameter = 290mm : Height = 260mm
Mixing Cups – Another alternative to dispensers for measuring catalyst addition.
1180ml – Strong & flexible Polypropylene – Graduations; 50ml – Self Releasing – Can be re-used
1400ml – Strong & flexible Polypropylene – Graduations; ml – 2:1, 3:1, 4:1 & 5:1 – Self Releasing – Can be reused
Mixing Sticks – Lengths 280mm and 300mm.
Mixing catalyst into resin thoroughly and evenly is just as vital as getting the measurements correct. Our Lightweight reusable plastic mixing sticks are fully resin and solvent proof.

Rollers and Sleeves
Paddle Rollers
This tool is integral to your Fibreglass GRP Roofing Installation success
Paddle rollers are the most popular consolidation rollers being particularly effective with chopped strand mat (CSM).
What is consolidation? When you use the paddle roller you are simply combining the matting within the resin, strengthening the resin base layer – when fully consolidated, this layer will go translucent.
You can consolidate several layers at a time if required. The roller extracts air and increases the strength of laminates and their horizontal flutes allow extra pressure to be applied without shearing glass fibre strands.
A roller is a roller right? Nope! Our rollers aren’t what you get at the local DIY store – they are designed for Roofing Resins and Roofing Topcoats.
Roller arms
Our Roller frames/arms are made of heavy duty steel, Push fit and Re-useable when cleaned with acetone after use.
Roller sleeves – Resin
Small – 100mm :
Top quality 18mm polyamide pile roller sleeve refills – These sleeves are super bonded to the core making them ideal for resin laminating and topcoating. The design of the roller bearing and the grip sockets ensures flawless operation.
Roller Sleeves – Topcoat
Top quality 4mm polyamide pile refill (Thinner than resin sleeves) enabling smooth installation of the naturally much thinner finishing topcoat layer. Super bonded to its core making it ideal for topcoating. As with our Resin Sleeves, these also bear the roller bearing and the grip socket design for flawless operation.
Extension Pole – 840mm to 1400mm
Fibreglass roofing is by its nature a manual exercise involving repetitive application with rollers. Save strain and bending of your back with quality steel telescopic extension handle – Fits all roller frames and consolidation rollers and has a detachable cap to allow fitment of screw thread or push on roller handles.
Buckets
Roofing Kits Direct recommend mixing of catalyst with resin in manageable quantities – 5 kg is ideal. We Stock durable polypropylene buckets – Ideal for mixing resins, topcoats and cleaning tools in acetone.
Resin and topcoat will cure faster within a bucket than on the deck itself so the manageable % kg volume helps to avoid wastage. Use two buckets one when laying up and the other for a colleague to mix the next batch. Then exchange and press on.
When your bucket contents have been used the thin residue in the bucket will cure v quickly – just flex the bucket and the residue will crack out
5.6 litre – Diameter = 190mm : Height = 195mm
11 litre – Diameter = 260mm : Height = 225mm
10 litre – Rectangular – L = 355mm W = 228mm H = 188mm
Brushes
Our Solvent resistant brushes are ideal for detail work where a roller can’t reach. In base coat installation they are used in stippling fashion where consolidation is required in tight angles and corners. They won’t break down when used with Resin Gel/Topcoat and can be cleaned with Acetone and re-used – 12mm : 25mm : 50mm : 75mm
